Rising 10th – 12th Grade
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) and Auburn University Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures Department are offering Fish Camp—five days of intense fun and hands-on activities blended into a creative learning experience that provides the broadest possible exposure to natural resource careers with an emphasis on aquaculture, fisheries, and aquatic ecology. This camp involves a lot of field/outdoor activity and is a great opportunity to learn from Auburn's renowned fisheries, aquaculture, and aquatic ecology professionals.
The camp is open to high school students in grades 10th-12th. Students will have the opportunity to make their own lures, fish for a trophy size bass in the AU fisheries research ponds, seine a fish pond, see flying carp, and much more.
Camp participants will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn's resident dormitories, eating at campus dining facilities, and enjoying evening social and recreational activities. Participants will have 24/7 counselor supervision.
Camp Fees are $925 and include the following items:
- On campus housing
- All meals, snacks and drinks while at camp
- Program instruction, materials and equipment
- Transportation to and from off-campus field-trip sites
- Recreational activities
