Audit Auburn University Courses with OLLI

row1

Current OLLI members are eligible to audit Auburn University undergraduate or graduate courses with approval from the academic department and associate dean. Members must have an active OLLI membership and complete Auburn University’s audit admissions process. Audit students do not need an AU Community ID card. Once they are officially admitted as students for the term, they will receive instructions from Auburn University on how to activate their student ID credentials.

How do I request to audit a course?
All OLLI members (new and returning) must complete the online OLLI Audit Request Form each semester they wish to audit a course: aub.ie/olliaudit

After the form is submitted, the Office of the Registrar will process the request and email the member:

  1. Confirmation that the application has been processed
  2. A document with the member’s Banner ID and Auburn email address
  3. A blank Audit Request Form to complete with required signatures

Once the Audit Request Form is received, the member must collect signatures from:

  • Department Head/Chair – to approve course access
  • Associate Dean – to authorize the audit
  • OLLI at Auburn – to verify current membership

After all signatures are obtained, the member should email the completed form to: registrar@auburn.edu

When enrollment is finalized, tuition and instructional fees are waived for OLLI members auditing a course. Students will receive additional instructions from Auburn University regarding access to student systems, including how to activate their student ID credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The online request and audit form must be completed each semester the member wishes to audit a course. (Example: A member auditing in spring and again in fall must submit both times.)

The OLLI membership verification section on the Audit Request Form will be signed by Tenisha King, Program Administrator & Registrar,

If Tenisha is unavailable, another OLLI staff member may sign, but a copy of the signed form must be forwarded to her at tking@auburn.edu for recordkeeping and billing coordination.

Processing times vary depending on student status:

  • Current or recent Auburn students: typically 1–3 business days
  • Former students with a Banner record: may require readmission
  • New students: may take several weeks as a new student record is created

Members are encouraged to submit requests well before the start of term to allow time for approvals and processing.
