Short Bio
Tenisha King is the Program Administrator and Registrar for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Auburn University, where she leads curriculum development, registration operations, and day-to-day program management to support lifelong learning for adults across the region. She oversees more than 200 courses and events annually, collaborating with faculty, volunteers, and community partners to provide enriching educational opportunities for adults 50 and older. Before joining OLLI, King served as Director of Philanthropy & Engagement for the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Alabama, where she spearheaded fundraising, donor relations, and event planning—achieving a 190% increase in annual revenue and expanding access to youth programming. Her earlier roles include Area Director and Clubhouse Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County, Prevention Specialist with East Alabama Mental Health, and Residential Program Manager at Neumann Family Services in Chicago. Across these positions, she has demonstrated leadership in program development, operations, community outreach, and nonprofit management. King earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Applied Social Science from Florida A&M University. She has completed all doctoral coursework in Human Service Administration and is a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. She serves on the Board of Directors for Compassionate Hands of Hope, Inc., and Opelika Community Theatre, and holds leadership roles with the Lee County Voters League as Financial Secretary and Chair of the Community Engagement Committee. She has also served on the Family & Engagement Committee of Auburn 2040 and the Review Committee for the Auburn University Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach. Tenisha secretly loves color-coded calendars, handwritten lists, and making the impossible look easy—especially when it involves keeping her family, community projects, and events all running smoothly.
