Short Bio

Dr. Elizabeth Ivy Quansah earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Auburn University (AU), received College/University Teaching Certificate from AU, and holds an MBA in Management from Indiana University (IU). Dr. Quansah is the Founding Director of AU Outreach Global, an office within the Division of University Outreach. The mission of Outreach Global is to provide opportunities for international engagement, culture emersion experiences, capacity training for global partners, and contributions towards community development across the globe. The office also provides affordable, short-term service-learning experiences to students who cannot afford traditional study abroad programs and for faculty members and staff, a gateway to explore global research and community outreach. Elizabeth has developed several global service-learning programs in selected countries in Africa, Europe, North and South America. The annual service-learning programs focus on the areas of education, health care, social services, and community outreach. The Outreach Global’s flagship health care program in Ghana, West Africa, and Greece, Europe, has served more than 5,000 patients. The education service-learning program has served over 400 students in Ghana and Tanzania, East Africa. Since the office's inception in 2016, over 120 AU students and more than 25 faculty and staff have volunteered their expertise to the service-learning and capacity building programs. Dr. Quansah has trained more than 700 global partners (both on-line and in person) in the areas of branding, marketing, public speaking, and train-of-the trainers. She is also the creator of the annual Global Community Day Festival for the cities of Auburn and Opelika and their surrounding cities, and she developed the GlobalConnect Summer Camp, as well as the Fulbright In the Classroom (FIC) for high schools and other non-academic institutions in in Lee County to bring the global experience to Alabamians. Dr. Quansah has presented at several conferences including APLU, Alabama Counseling Association, Southern Regional Faculty and Southern Regional Faculty and Instructional Development Consortium (SRFIDC), The Mentoring Network for African Women in Academia (MTAWA), UPCEA, NASPA, and AU Office of International Programs conferences and many more. She is an instructor at Auburn's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and has been the recipient of numerous grants from the U.S. Embassy in Cotonou, the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs (AOMA), and the Brother's Brother Foundation for in-kind health supplies. Prior to her work at AU, Dr. Quansah served as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management at Tuskegee University, Alabama. She has also served as the West African Young People's Coordinator for the World Council of Churches, a subsidiary of the United Nations (UN). Dr. Quansah was the recipient of the University of Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) National 2020 International Leadership Award and the 2019 UPCEA South Region Conference Emerging Leader Award for her innovative approach to global education and service learning. She is a board member of the Alabama Chapter, Fulbright Association, and the Co-Founder and Co-President of the Joseph and Elizabeth Quansah (JEQ) Foundation.

Responsibilities
  • Established the Office of Outreach Global at Auburn University (AU).
  • Developed the mission statement, goals, marketing, and branding plans, and the programming for the office.

  • Serve as a member of the University Outreach Vice President Executive Council (VP Council).
  • Oversees the office mission to align with the AU Outreach mission, the overall university’s mission, strategic goals, staffing, budgets, and programming.

Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Tuskegee University, 2011 – 2014

Responsibilities
  • Provided executive leadership and vision for the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, which includes six (6) functional departments, 25+ full-time directors and associate directors, 100+ staff, and over 20+ student ambassadors.
  • Serve as a member of the University Senior Leadership Team, President’s Cabinet.
  • Developed admissions recruitment master plans, and marketing strategies, and revised enrollment and scholarship policies and procedures.
  • Produced the university’s first-ever recruitment video and virtual campus tour.
  • Provided vision, oversight, and continuous review of the recruitment materials, and admissions processes.
  • Established dual enrollment programs between Tuskegee University and five county high schools in Alabama.
  • Managed the day-to-day operations and recruitment activities of the admissions and enrollment department.

  • Exceeded annual enrollment goals from 2,200 to over 3,300 students from 2011 to 2014
  • Incorporated peer-to-peer recruitment call plans with the Tuskegee Golden Tiger students’ ambassadors which led to increases in students’ recruitment and enrollment.
  • Assisted and managed the “One-stop shop” for enrollment processes
  • Worked with a 20-person Patterson Hall Student Center Renovation & Expansion Advisory Board consisting of students, staff, alumni, and faculty.
  • Worked with the Directors in oversight of internal fiscal controls through the development of policies and procedures to ensure sound financial records, reports, and audit capabilities totaling over $3 million
  • Trained admissions and financial aid staff on best customer service and recruitment practices
  • Developed an “Early Warning System for Math and Science” to identify incoming students who needed extra support in Math and Science to ensure increased retention.

Global Ministries (nonprofit) – Accra, Ghana


Young Women’s West Africa Coordinator, Global Ministries, 2001 – 2004

Responsibilities
  • Created the organization’s objectives and tailored them to address unique educational and health issues within West and East African communities.
  • Represented Global Ministries at various regional and international conferences.
  • Launched HIV/AIDS awareness week with universities in Ghana in collaboration with John Hopkins Institute, Ghana in 2002.
  • Trained teen mothers and young people living with HIV- AIDS in three East and West African countries.
  • Served as a liaison between the head office and local partners in West Africa.
  • Managed and oversaw more than 20 staff members in the West Africa office.
  • Improved upon quarterly budget and monthly financial reports
  • Organized community outreach activities such as workshops, seminars for young women, conferences with various Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in Ghana, and other West and East African countries.


Joseph & Elizabeth Quansah (JEQ) Foundation, Auburn, Alabama
JEQ foundation was founded in 2019 as a registered 501 (c) (3) IRS Tax Exempt nonprofit in the USA. The foundation provides tuition, residential scholarships, and laptops to excellent but needy college and university students in Ghana. In addition to the financial support, the Foundation provides academic advising, mentorship, and internship opportunities for our scholarship recipients.

Co-Founder and Co-President, 2019- present

Responsibilities

  • Created the Foundation’s website and social media pages.
  • Developed marketing materials, impact reports, and sponsorship campaigns.
  • Responsible for marketing and branding of the Foundation.
  • Managed the day-day operations of the foundation.
  • Review and update the Foundation’s website contents on a regular basis.
  • Recruit volunteer board members and Ghanaian representatives for fundraising and corporate partnership initiatives.
  • Responsible for fundraising activities.
  • Administer final virtual interview for selected scholarship recipients.
  • Oversees the academic progress and community service of the scholarship recipients in Ghana.

Accomplishments

  • Cumulatively awarded 70 full tuitions, 70 housing scholarships, and 16 laptops to underserved college students in Ghana, West Africa since 2019.
  • Created virtual academic advising and mentoring sessions for the scholarship recipients.
  • Partnered with two nonprofits in the USA.
  • Established a corporate partnership in Ghana for internship opportunities for scholarship recipients.
  • Offered twelve (12) new laptops to some of the recipients with high academic grades.

GRANT AWARDS AND FUNDING SUPPORT

2025

  • Received over $9,000 funding support from the AU International Students Organization (ISO) supported the fourth Global Community Day Festival which took place on April 5th, 2025, at the Cater Lawn, Auburn University.
  • Received $10,000 funding support from the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs (AOMA) for the fourth Global Community Day Festival. The festival took place on April 5 at the at the Cater Lawn, Auburn University.
  • Received $3,000 funding support from AU Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures. The funding support provided some program scholarships and general support for the premier GlobalConnect Camp in June 2025.

2024

  • Received a $15,000 entrepreneurship award from the U.S. Embassy in Benin, West Africa. The award was used to develop “Success Through Entrepreneurship Program (STEP)” training programs for small business owners and community leaders in Benin.
  • Received $10,000 award from the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs (AOMA) for the third Global Community Day Festival. The festival took place on April 20 at the City of Opelika amphitheater.

2022

  • Received a $20,000 entrepreneurship award from the U.S. Embassy in Benin, West Africa. The award was used to develop “Success Through Entrepreneurship Program (STEP)” training programs for women, youth, students, small business owners and community leaders in Benin.

2021

  • Received over $45,000 in in-kind medical supplies from Brother's Brother Foundation in support of the 2020-2021 Ghana healthcare programs in Sekondi and Accra, Ghana.
