Short Bio

Cheri Lumpkin is the Communications Specialist for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University. She is responsible for marketing, communications, design and classroom technology to promote and enhance lifelong learning in the region. She also serves as a member of the University Outreach Communications team advancing the mission of Outreach through collaboration and strategic engagement. Lumpkin earned her BS (Mass Communication '00) from the University of Montevallo while also working as a Production Assistant for WVTM-TV in Birmingham. After graduation, she became the Graphics Coordinator for news broadcasts and specials including a regional Emmy award-winning sports special. Prior to coming to Auburn, Lumpkin worked in a Washington, DC law firm specializing in merger research and regulatory compliance for broadcast clients; managed the permanent collection and finances for two university art galleries; and helped create a Business & Finance department focused on faculty/staff training and developing standards for information sharing within the division.
