Alabama Council on Human Relations
ACHR is a private, non-profit organization funded exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The goal of ACHR is to promote and implement programs that improve economic conditions, education, and racial relationships for all people, resulting in increased self-sufficiency and overall improvement in their quality of life.
Auburn University Campus Food Pantry
Since 2012, the Food Pantry has provided non-perishable food items and meals for students. There are no requirements to receive meals.
Auburn United Methodist Church
AUMC provides emergency assistance to hungry families in Lee County. Those in need are invited to receive assistance by simply providing a photo ID and proof of residence in Lee County. AUMC also sends boxes of food to homebound senior citizens through their Homebound Ministry initiative.
Bell Missionary Baptist Church
Bell Baptist is a local church that uses Campus Kitchen's services to provide meals to its members.
Community Market
An extension of the Food Bank of East Alabama, the Community Market distributes food in a friendly, grocery store environment for Lee County families in need. This is a client-choice pantry that allows people to select the food that best fits their needs. A photo ID and proof of Lee County residence are required at an initial appointment. The Community Market also offers the Brown Bag program, which provides monthly supplementary groceries for Lee County seniors sixty and older with limited income. Seniors complete an application form to enroll in the program.
EASE House
Formed in 1974, "East Alabama Services for the Elderly" strives to provide health, educational, nutritional, and housing assistance for the older residents of Auburn and Opelika. A subset of this larger organization is EASE House: a 100-unit rent-subsidized independent living facility for seniors 62 and older. They are served hot meals to eat together as a community alongside a CKAU volunteer.
Esperanza House
Since 2016, Esperanza House has served Hispanic families by providing youth development, childcare, education, and mental health programs, as well as connecting them to a network of community resources. CKAU provides them with meals to take home.
Exodus Ranch
Exodus Ranch is a non-profit in Opelika, Alabama, that focuses on providing a home and Christian environment for local children in need.
Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church
Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church is a local church that uses Campus Kitchen's services to provide meals to its members.
His Place
A male-focused ministry of Harvest Evangelism, His Place is a one-year recovery center that offers men rehabilitative assistance to serve their spiritual, health, and social needs.
Meals on Wheels
MOW provides home-delivered meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities, as well as social connection. CKAU volunteers frequently build cherished relationships with MOW recipients.
New Birth Ministry
Founded in 2002 by Waymon Johnson, a graduate of His Place, New Birth Ministry has several men’s homes throughout Southeast Alabama. CKAU provides meals for the Opelika home (Next Level).
Nourish
Nourish Wellness is a pediatric lifestyle medicine center for children and their families. They deliver holistic health care by incorporating the pillars of lifestyle medicine, which include Nutrition, Physical Activity, Stress Management, Restorative Sleep, Avoidance of Risky Substances, and Social Connections.
Our House
An initiative of the non-profit "By Our Love," Our House seeks to provide spiritual, educational, and social support to children in Auburn. They frequently host after-school programs that give kids a place to stay and do homework before they’re able to go home; CKAU meals are provided currently as snacks or dinner for later.
Porter Community Center
A subset of the Auburn Housing Authority, the Porter Community Center holds weekly events where senior adults gather to play games and share a meal donated by CKAU.
Timothy Manor
Timothy Manor is a Section 202 program that helps expand the supply of affordable housing with supportive services for the elderly. It provides low-income elderly individuals with options that allow them to live independently in an environment better suited for their needs.
True Deliverance Holiness Church
True Deliverance Holiness Church is a local church that uses Campus Kitchen's services to provide meals to its members.
