Auburn University Outreach is driving workforce development across Alabama through innovative programs and strategic partnerships. The Government & Economic Development Institute (GEDI), the Office of Professional & Continuing Education (OPCE), and the Center for Educational Outreach and Engagement (CEOE) are at the forefront of this effort, delivering training and resources that strengthen local economies and create opportunities for all Alabamians.

CEOE connects Alabama youth with career pathways and opportunities, while OPCE offers professional certifications and job-ready skills to meet industry demands. GEDI plays a critical role by training Alabama’s government officials in leadership and economic development strategies, ensuring effective governance and sustainable growth.

The impact is clear: Auburn University’s outreach efforts contribute to an $8.03 billion economic footprint statewide, including $3.01 billion in direct and indirect economic impact and 33,835 jobs created. By enhancing human capital—valued at $5.01 billion in earning power—these programs ensure Alabama’s workforce remains relevant, competitive and resilient.
