The Campus Kitchen at Auburn University continues to make a powerful impact by rescuing food and serving those who need it most. Through partnerships with campus dining and local organizations, student volunteers recover surplus food, prepare nutritious meals, and deliver them to individuals and families facing food insecurity in the Auburn-Opelika area.
Through thousands of volunteer hours, tens of thousands of meals delivered, and strong community partnerships established, Campus Kitchen exemplifies Auburn University’s land-grant mission - serving the people of Alabama and beyond by addressing food insecurity and fostering a culture of service.
Looking Ahead: In 2026, Campus Kitchen will celebrate 15 years of service, a milestone in its mission to fight hunger and empower students through leadership and volunteerism. The anniversary will recognize thousands of meals shared and countless lives touched, proving that when a community comes together, everyone thrives.
Campus Kitchen also maintains a mobile food pantry at Timothy Manor, a senior living community, and keeps it stocked with nonperishable items available to residents 24/7.
Community Impact
Campus Kitchen partners with nonprofits, churches and local charities – serving populations in low-income areas or individuals facing challenges such as physical disabilities, limited support systems and other barriers to food security.
