We are delighted you will be presenting an outreach poster on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the Auburn University Dixon Hotel and Conference Center (AUHCC) in Terrace Room. Please familiarize yourself with the following information on poster presenter expectations, timeline and judging criteria.

Graduate Student Poster Presenter Tasks

  • Register to attend the symposium by Friday, August 1, 2025.
  • Produce a 36”x 48” paper (lamination is not required) or vinyl poster and can be either landscape or portrait orientation.
    • Set up a poster from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. on August 27 by attaching the poster on hanging drapes (from piping). The Office of Faculty Engagement will provide straight pins and clips for attaching your poster. If another tool other than clips or pins is needed for attaching a poster, please supply this yourself.
    • The presentation ID will be your poster number. Look for the presenter number on the drape for your assigned poster location.
  • Present a 3-minute engaging lighting talk about the poster with attendees and 3 judges.
  • Remain by the poster during the poster session, 2 hours.
  • Remove your poster after the session from 2:00 – 2:30 p.m.
  • Presenters should consider bringing business or e-cards or note contact information on the poster with a QR code for follow-up questions and networking. Providing 8.5 x 11 printout copies of the poster can also be used as a networking tool.
  • Presentation award winners will be announced by 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the conclusion of the poster session (AUHCC Terrace) Room. The 3 winners are invited to return Wednesday, August 28, 2025 to be recognized during the complimentary symposium keynote luncheon.

Judging Criteria

Only posters who have elected to be judged will be included in the poster competition. Judges from a variety of AU departments and community partners will evaluate posters on the following: verbal delivery of the poster as related to outreach and engagement, presentation graphics and layout, importance and relevance to the symposium theme, and activity and study plans.

Both the poster and the oral presentation should effectively explain activities (i.e., outreach, community engaged scholarship, extension, research, etc.) in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience in 3-minutes or less.

Posters should be designed to clearly and visually represent content, assessments, and/or evaluations and importance to a general audience and applicable to outreach and engagement practice. Please bookmark the presenter information pages for general symposium presenter information and updates. University Outreach appreciates your participation as a student symposium presenter again this year!
