Welcome to the 2025 Outreach and Engaged Scholarship Symposium presenter information page. Please bookmark this page for presenter information and updates. University Outreach appreciates your participation as a symposium presenter this year!
We are delighted you will be presenting on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the Auburn University Dixon Hotel and Conference Center (AUHCC). Please familiarize yourself with the following information:
- All presenters must register for the symposium no later than Friday, August 1, 2025.
- Presenters are encouraged to check in no later than 8:30am on August 28, 2025. A continental breakfast will be provided.
- Presenters are encouraged to bring their own presentation handouts, laptop, or tablet device.
- Laptops and tablets will not be provided.
- Internet access will be available via Eduroam and AU_Guest. Speakers or sound amplification for any video or audio clips will not be provided.
- Presenters are responsible for printing their handouts (5-10) and are asked to be prepared to respond to attendees should they desire an electronic copy of a presentation.
- Presenters are asked to be prepared to provide contact information and/or relevant outreach program or project website to attendees for future contact and/or for more information.
- Podium Talks:
- AUHDCC Rooms Oak I, Oak II, Camellia, Longleaf
- Podium talks will be 20 minutes each via power point. A15-minute presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A is suggested.
- Please use a timer to help keep up with the time. Timekeepers will be present to assist with monitoring the time.
- Podium talks have been intentionally grouped in each room to provide attendees with an array of topics.
- QR codes for presentation evaluation will be located in the rear of the room.
- Podium power point presentations will be solicited in mid-August to be preloaded in each room. This will allow for an easy transition between podium talks. Please bring a backup jump drive and/or laptop with the presentation to the session.
- Roundtable Presentations:
- AUHDCC Legacy Ballroom
- Roundtable presentations will be 45 minutes each. A presentation should be interactive and engage attendees in discussion of the content presented. It is suggested that the remaining 10 minutes be used for Q&A.
- Presenters should refer to the conference program to locate their assigned table in Legacy Ballroom.
- Numbered table tents with QR codes for evaluation, will identify where presentations have been assigned to take place.
- Presenters are responsible for printing their handouts (5-10) and are asked to be prepared to respond to attendees should they desire an electronic copy of your presentation.
- Presenters are asked to be prepared to provide contact information and/or relevant outreach program or project website to attendees for future contact and/or for more information.
- Poster Presentations:
- AUHDCC Terrace Room
- Posters should be presented during the 1-hour timeframe of the session. A presentation should be interactive and engage attendees in discussion of the content presented.
- Produce a 36”x 48” paper (lamination is not required) or vinyl poster and can be either landscape or portrait orientation.
- Poster setup is from from 8:00 am to 9:00 a.m. on August 28 in Terrace room by attaching the poster on hanging drapes (from piping).
- The Office of Faculty Engagement will provide straight pins and clips for attaching your poster. If another tool other than clips or pins is needed for attaching a poster, please supply this yourself.
- The presentation ID will be your poster number. Look for the presenter number on the drape for your assigned poster location.
- Present a 3-minute engaging lighting talk about the poster with attendees.
- Remain by the poster during the poster session, 1 hour.
- Remove your poster at the end of the session or from 4:30 – 5:00 p.m.
- Presenters should consider bringing business or e-cards or note contact information on the poster with a QR code for follow-up questions and networking.
- Providing 8.5 x 11 printout copies of the poster can also be used as a networking tool.
