Elizabeth Quansah, director of the Office of Outreach Global, has been elected to the board of directors for the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE).
IARSLCE is a global organization dedicated to advancing research and scholarship on service-learning and community engagement in higher education. As a board member, Quansah will help shape the association’s strategic priorities, participate in monthly meetings and serve on key committees that guide the organization’s work.
Quansah’s election reflects her extensive experience in fostering global engagement by faculty and students while building international partnerships. At Auburn, she leads initiatives that connect faculty scholarship with community needs, advancing outreach and engaged learning across disciplines. Her work includes developing global collaborations that promote service-learning and community-based research, positioning Auburn as a leader in engaged scholarship worldwide.
Quansah has spearheaded multiple programs that strengthen Auburn’s global presence. She founded Global Community Day Festival, an annual event in the Auburn/Opelika area celebrating cultural exchange and global engagement. She led Service-Learning projects and research in Ghana, Benin STEP, Greece, Tanzania and Panama. In addition, she launched educational initiatives including Fulbright in the Classroom and Global Connect Camp, which bring international perspectives to local classrooms and youth programs.
